Finding Balance in the Fractures

If I’m being completely honest, writing this album was painful. After the dust settled from my previous projects, I realized that surviving the past is only half the battle — the real work is living with the pieces left behind. That’s where the title "Torn" comes from. It’s that heavy, daily friction of being caught between two worlds: the memories of my misguided childhood, combat tours, toxic relationships, and the quiet life I’m trying so hard to build here in the present.

I don't have all the answers, and I’m definitely not standing on a pedestal. I'm just a human being, a father, and a combat veteran who uses music as a survival tool. These twenty tracks are my personal journal set to rhythm. If you’ve ever felt split down the middle by your own history, or if you're currently fighting an invisible war inside your own head, I want you to know you aren’t sitting in that dark room alone. This is what it sounds like when I’m trying to mend.

My Vision

After releasing Unrequited and Vulnerable, which allowed me to process the wreckage of heartbreak and the initial weight of survival, I realized my healing wasn't a straight line. I felt a quiet responsibility to keep looking inward, especially at the places where I still feel fractured. For me, Torn represents the daily dualities I face — the constant pull between a heavy past and the present moment, the struggle to stay connected to those I love, and the friction that comes with trying to mend.

Musically, I’ve stayed true to what I call a "Vocal Architect" approach. I try to balance the unfiltered, sometimes difficult storytelling of my life's struggles with rhythmic affirmations that act as my own personal lighthouse when things get dark. Across these twenty original tracks, I am just documenting my self-healing process in real-time. I wanted to prove to myself, and maybe to anyone else listening, that progress is still possible even when it feels incredibly slow.

The Anatomy of My Struggle & Healing

This album is my authentic walk through the shifting emotional states I experience, organized by the themes that have defined my life after the uniform:

• The Weight of the Uniform: The isolated feeling of moving through a civilian world that doesn’t always understand the internal displacement of coming home, which I process in tracks like "Can You Hear Me (Break)" and "Static Quo."

• The Descent: Those heavy, low-frequency moments where I feel completely locked in by my own thoughts and overwhelmed by the noise of reality, which I explore in "Lonely Cage" and "Under Pressure."

• The Trigger: Facing the jagged edges of trauma and the exhausting cycles where an old memory catches me off guard, letting the past bleed into the present in tracks like "Incoming" and "Always Running Back To You."

• The Lighthouse: Small, intentional mantras and musical anchors I wrote to pull myself out of the dark, finding grounding moments in "One Day At A Time" and "Always Be There."

• The Refuge: A quiet, celebratory shift where I look at the lasting bonds I've made and finally allow myself to step into the light, captured in "Go Forever" and "It's Amazing (Precious Gift)."

I’m inviting you to walk through the fire with me — not to boast about the flames, but so we can look at how to emerge on the other side together. As a veteran and someone who struggles just like anyone else, creating this project has been my own form of auditory therapy.
